Spot on! The atmosphere was delightful, the wait staff was very attentive and the food was the best in the area! The grilled BBQ, bacon and cheese grouper was done to perfection, and the hush puppies shouldn't be hushed. Don't let the outside dining scare you off in the heat - they have huge fans that will cool you off in any weather. We were there in 95 degree temperatures. Don't miss this wonderful hidden treasure! Mattison’s Riverside transformed into Pier 22 Restaurant, Patio, and Ballroom on Thursday, September 1, 2011. The Miller Family, who developed and has owned the restaurant since 1976 has elected not to renew the name licensing agreement with the Mattison Company.The owners feel it is time to continue their growth and expansion under a broader name whichbetter identifies the location. The name Pier 22 comes from the historic nature of the MemorialPier on which the restaurant stands and the red channel marker 22 on the Manatee River thatleads into the Twin Dolphin Marina and restaurant. Hugh Miller, the managing general partnerfor the restaurant and marina said, “I am really excited about our new name. I feel it gives therestaurant a more modern look and better represents the expansive and creative menu ourculinary team has created over the years.”

'Star Fish Company strives to serve simple Florida seafood prepared in the simplest of ways. Most items are either fried, grilled, blackened or sauteed. Sides are kept simple, too. There's cole slaw, cheese grits and french fries. Of course, don't forget the hush puppies! We haven't found any better!'
Ophelia's on the Bay is Sarasota's finest waterfront restaurant now in it's 22nd season. The low profile of the building gives you eye-level views of Little Sarasota Bay framed by tropical vegetation, a water lily pond with a bronze fountain and flower gardens.
