White City Park is a beautiful, if unusual-looking, park bordered by the St. Lucie River. Rather than the standard South Florida pines and palms, White City Park features tons of old oak trees, breathtaking, and dripping in Spanish moss, as well as enormous stands of bamboo. There are plenty of picnic tables, a picnic shelter, and a children's playground. The park is also a very popular destination for bank fishing along the St Lucie River.

White City Park's boat ramp offers a stunning old-Florida scenic route along the St Lucie River, winding through hardwood forests with oaks reaching over the water and eventually through the St Lucie Inlet to the Atlantic Ocean. Officially designated parking is available for maybe ten trailers, but there is plenty of room to pull off along the roadway through the park. Restrooms are located at the entrance.

The two-slip shallow boat ramp is in excellent condition and has very nice docks. There are only two small idle zones along the river, it's 25 MPH the rest of the way. Watch out for submerged trees near the waters' edge, stay towards the middle of the river.

For a visiting trailer boater, the St Lucie River from White City Park is a hidden gem. From the hardwood hammocks at the start, to the Jensen Beach Causeway and out into the ocean, this is a fantastic sightseeing trip. You can use the courtesy docks at Veterans Memorial Park at Rivergate and walk across the street to get subs from Jimmy John's in the Rivergate Plaza. Or wait until you get closer to the ocean and use the new Stuart municipal day slips (free courtesy of the city of Stuart) and stroll downtown Stuart. In any case, it's one of the finest boating experiences in South Florida. Information from South Florida Fun Guide
