The southernmost city in the continental United States was originally known as the primary base of operation against pirates many years ago. Today you can visit historic Fort Jefferson, the largest brick building in the Western Hemisphere, and the Dry Tortugas National Park. The Key West Shipwreck Historeum recreates the wreck and salvage of artifacts from ships long since past.

There are a wide array of museums and attractions in Key West, including the Key West Aquarium, the Lighthouse Museum, the Audubon House and Gardens, and the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum. Also, don’t forget to take a Conch Tour Train for an informative narration about the area history throughout the old and new Key West.
