2016 Holiday Boat Parades

Lighted_Boat_Parade_PhotoThere is nothing better than a parade during the holiday season. Wait!...maybe there is. It’s a boat parade!

You can't help but get into the spirit of things with lights gleaming off the cool ripples in the water and the holiday sounds coming from the lavishly decorated vessels. That’s why at "Florida By Water" we have created an extensive list of boating parades for the holidays.

From Pensacola to Key West, we have listed over 74 spectacular events. You can locate the huge ones like in Fort Lauderdale with over 200 boats to smaller ones in Astor with a hometown feel.

The truth of the matter is we have given you fair notice to plan ahead...no excuses this year.... spend an evening with the family and friends. Get into the spirit only the way a true boater can. Read More to see the list.

Did we miss one? Please let us know if so. click here  or rusty@floridabywater.com

Please confirm dates and times, they are subject to change

SPECIAL THANKS TO CHAMPAGNE & PARISI FOR FUNDING THIS PAGE.

* We are in the process up updating this page for 2016 (Check the year after the date to ensure it has been updated).

If you are going to a parade by boat, these tips may help.

  • Ensure that the lights on the boat are working.
  • Get there early and stay a little later to avoid the rush.
  • Make sure that you life jacks are readily available.
  • If you have a chart plotter, turn tracking on.
  • Avoid alcohol if you are the captain of the boat.

32nd Annual Alafia Lighted Boat Parade

December 5th, 2015 5:00pm

The Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview is pleased to announce the 32nd Annual Alafia Lighted Boat Parade to be held on Saturday December 5th, 2015 beginning @ 5:00pm. The celebration will be different this year. We will be having just the Parade of lighted boats which will start at Williams Park Boat Ramp (9425 Highway 41 South Riverview, FL 33578) and go all the way to the Beer Shed and then back down the river to Dixie’s Dockside and stop at a few locations in between such as River’s Edge and The Preserve at the Alafia along the river. As we are a charitable organization and this event benefits the community, we are looking for Sponsors at several levels and boats to parade down the Alafia for the benefit of many onlookers. This event will fund our Clean Water Project in Honduras, (and other charitable activities in the community that we participate in), where we will be providing water filtration systems to the indigenous peoples in that country that do not have safe drinking water. All proceeds will fund this charitable activity of The Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview.

If you are interested in participating in the Boat Parade this year, please contact Mike Broussard at Michael@broussard.net. We are asking that our participating boaters make a suggested donation of 25.00 to be in the parade, and we are looking to the community to help us by making donations to our club. Punta Gorda

Punta Gorda Boat Parade

December 17th, 2016 6:00 pm ( always the Saturday night before Christmas

Viewers get up very close to the boats at this parade that includes carolers, performers, and great decorations.

We’re Commercial Free! No entry fees, no judging, just a great time! No worries from winds or tides. It's Smooth Sailing as the entire parade is within protected waters of the PGI canal system.

To increase the margin of boater safety, two-way traffic has been reduced to an absolute minimum, and the number of turns has been reduced, resulting in a safer and far less challenging, stress-free time for our participating boaters.

To better accommodate the ever increasing number of boats queuing before the start of the parade, the actual parade starting point has been relocated farther down route. This opens up the basins off Windjammer Point and Bal Harbor Place condos as well as Albatross Lagoon for a much larger pre-parade assembly area.

We have More Participation Than Any Other Lighted Boat Parade on the Gulf Coast. Website
