Lonnie Wurn ramp is a new facility located in Mill Cove in the St. Johns River. This single lane ramp provides access to the northern portions of the river and Mill Cove. The ramp is part of a recreational park that also has a fishing pier and playground. The level of usage at the ramp is influenced by tides, and is very shallow at lower tides. The entrance channel is reportedly shallow as well.

Oak Harbor boat ramp is a well used ramp utilized by boaters wanting to access the ICW from the northern beaches. The ramp can handle all size vessels, although it gets somewhat shallow at lower tides. The ramp is well protected and accesses the ICW through a maintained canal. Parking at the ramp can get crowded on weekends, and overflow parking is limited to residential areas.

Mayport boat ramp is used almost exclusively by boaters heading offshore and to the Mayport jetties for fishing. It is the largest ramp in Duval County and can handle the largest trailerable boats. Some shoaling has been reported just off the base of the ramp, however this is only a problem for the largest boats at very low tides. Recent improvements have alleviated many of the problems of overcrowding, although parking is still tight on busy weekends. Swift currents make loading and unloading boats challenging during extreme conditions. The sometimes difficult water conditions and crowds may intimidate less experienced boaters who may use Intracoastal

Sisters Creek Park: ICW at 8203 Heckscher Dr. (Bridge); recently improved double-wide ramp opened last September; adequate parking and new floating concrete docks; restrooms, paved parking lot, other park amenities are currently under construction, but ramp remains open except for brief periods; can't be used much of July because of use of site by Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament.

Important notice: Sisters Creek Marina will serve as the host site for this year's Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament July 5 through July 27. During this time, the boat ramps and park will be closed to the general public.

During this time, the closest available boat ramps will be Joe Carlucci and Palms Fish Camp boat ramps.
