  • Make sure that your life jacks are readily available.
  • If you have a chart plotter, turn tracking on.
  • Avoid alcohol if you are the captain of the boat.

Christmas on the Creek

December 5th, 2020 7:00pm

Commodore Tom Clay is extending an invitation to any boat owners interested in decorating their boat and joining in for the fun to contact him at commodore@jcpropclub.com or via our Facebook page at www.jcpropclub.com for more information.

The best-decorated boat gets a $300 cash prize while second place gets $200 and third place $100. All boaters participating will also receive a Captain’s Gift Bag. Prizes are also awarded for “best dock” along the parade route.

Established in 1988, this annual event has an estimated 40 boats of all shapes, sizes, and themes participate in the event. Boats decked out in all their holiday finery navigate the parade route which begins at The Marina at Julington Creek, goes underneath the Rt.13 bridge and motors around Bulls Bay, then returns under the bridge and continues down Durbin Creek. Spectators can view it from the Julington Creek Bridge walkways.

Homeowners with docks located on the parade route are invited to join in the fun too! Decorated docks can vie for a variety of prizes including cash and goodie bags. Tradition holds that the boaters judge the docks. “The people along the shores of the creek put on quite a show for us every year”, “we have people shooting fireworks, parties with live bands, and bonfires… some have as many as 100 people waving and shouting Merry Christmas.” The people onshore have as much fun as the boaters!

Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade

December 5th, 2020 6:00 pm

The holiday event of the year in northern Palm Beach County will be returning once again. We will bring fireworks, entertainment, media coverage, and our popular and impactful toy drive back to the community. The Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade (PBHBP) will officially celebrate its 26th voyage on Saturday, December 5, 2020.

The PBHBP is known for showcasing dozens of holiday-decorated vessels to hundreds of thousands of spectators along the parade route and watching from home via WPBF Channel 25. The event is also known for the ‘On the Water’ Toy Drive – a toy collection event that receives donated toys by land and water along the parade route that are then distributed to children through Toys for Tots and Little Smiles. Over 20,000 toys have been collected and distributed in the past two years alone! This year, the demand for donated toys has reached an all-time high! We need your help to deliver cheer and toys to the local community.

Punta Gorda Boat Parade

December 19, 2020, 6:00 pm (always the Saturday night before Christmas)

Viewers get up very close to the boats at this parade that includes carolers, performers, and great decorations.

We’re Commercial Free! No entry fees, no judging, just a great time! No worries from winds or tides. It's Smooth Sailing as the entire parade is within protected waters of the PGI canal system.

To increase the margin of boater safety, two-way traffic has been reduced to an absolute minimum, and the number of turns has been reduced, resulting in a safer and far less challenging, stress-free time for our participating boaters.

To better accommodate the ever-increasing number of boats queuing before the start of the parade, the actual parade starting point has been relocated farther down the route. This opens up the basins off Windjammer Point and Bal Harbor Place condos as well as Albatross Lagoon for a much larger pre-parade assembly area.

Winter Haven

Light Up The Lakes Christmas Boat Parade

December 5th, 2019 5:30 pm

This annual event, hosted by Chain Life Winter Haven and brought to you by Caribbean Bay. The parade begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. on Lake May in Winter Haven. The parade travels from Lake May to Howard, back to May, then onto Lake Shipp. Boat decorations will be judged at Caribbean Bay on Lake May.
and at Old Man Franks on Lake Howard. The best viewing areas are:
Lake Howard Trail in the Heritage Park area (between Pope Ave and 7th St NW by Beymer Church). Bring lawn chairs or picnic blanket and pick your spot for optimum viewing.
You can also watch the parade while eating a wonderful meal at Harborside Restaurant, Tanner's Lakeside Bar & Grill, Caribbean Bay, Old Man Franks, and the Twisted Prop. We strongly suggest these locations along Lake May and Howard. Lake Shipp is the last lake on the parade route. Historically 1/2 the boats bail due to cold weather and wind. Though we strongly encourage boaters to see the parade all the way through, we must warn the public that watching on Shipp may not be ideal. This year we will live stream on this Facebook page and giving updates before during and after the parade. No registration required for boats however, we strongly suggest that captains like this event page for constant updates. 1st and 2nd prizes and we are bringing back the “people’s choice” due to such a great response last year. Thank you for participating. The entire community looks forward to this community holiday tradition!
