The Club Med all-inclusive resort of Sandpiper is located in the United States, on the east coast of Florida. It stretches along the lush vegetation of the Saint Lucie river, between Miami and Orlando, and only a 30-minute drive from West Palm Beach.
Everyone loves vacations. Relaxing, playing and doing all those vacation things. But after a while, they all start to feel the same. And you can't help but want something more. Whether you're an athlete, a couple or a group, deep down yuo want more excitement, more energy. You want a place that creates a more enriching experience and allows you to focus on your well-being.

Local Review & Photos By Howard Cohen

This is directly on the St. Lucie River and the marina is exposed to wind and current from the river. Today is was windy and my friend Al, who has a 53' Carver Voyager, said he would not want to dock there in these conditions.

Club Med claims to have extensively renovated its property. Its website lists some rooms as renovated and others as pre-renovation, presumably cheaper.

As my pictures show, the resort itself doesn't look bad, although my wife and Al's wife were turned off by it. I thought the pool (2) area was okay for large, rectangular pools, nothing fancy, although the lounges outside of the pool area looked very nice.

One of the wives disliked the odor of the restaurant pictured (inside/outside seating), but I didn't get close enough to tell.

The marina itself is not good. It has not been renovated. The wood, fixed docks appear in need of renovation. We didn't walk on them and I didn't see anything broken, but the impression is of an old, commercial marina, not a luxury property. The gatehouse into the marina and an accessory building next to it are badly in need of replacement. Also, Al's business includes fencing and he had disparaging remarks to say about the fences.

Suffice it to say that we are going to give a negative report to my yacht club board and nix any effort to have our major summer trip to this location.

However,  Bob  (who managing the dock at that time ) was cooperative and friendly. MIndy is the Dock Master.
