For those who don't already know the tale...Parrot Key was created by a couple of sunburned snowbirds who thoroughly enjoy Caribbean food, drinks, and sunsets. The merry migration that brought these snowbirds to this location on Fort Myers Beach must have been destiny.

You'll find that this roost has everything a touring toucan would enjoy- warm sunny weather, a carefree island lifestyle, a waterfront view nestled along the mangroves, endless boating days, fin-tastic fishing, excellent food, and ice cold drinks.

So please enjoy a bit of paradise at Parrot Key Caribbean Grill- a special place where colorful characters flock to eat, drink, and be merry. Tales of mystery, adventure and enchantment float through the air and the tastes of the tropics tease your senses.

A long time favorite of Locals and Tourist alike.

The Gulfshore Grill and the Cottage Bar are located right on the waters edge, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, on Ft. Myers Beach.

We offer a variety of food to please everyone’s taste, from Eggs Benedict to our juicy burger made with Certified Angus Beef.

We have the freshest Seafood on the Island with Oysters On The Half Shell, Steamed Clams, Steamed Mussels, Garlic Crab Claws, Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, Crab Cakes, Florida Grouper and our Famous Calamari strips are just to name a few.

You may sit inside or outside at anyone of our three dining areas, all with a million dollar view of the Gulf of Mexico

* Locals tend to anchor in the Gulf and walk up. It can get crowed. This is a great location to people watch.

The first development on the island took place in 1911 on what was then called Crescent Beach. Our canal was the first on the island and was dredged by David Ireland who also dug the Lake Okeechobee Waterway. The first bridge to the Island was built in 1921 and destroyed in the 1926 hurricane which made Hurricane and Captiva Passes. It was rebuilt as a 'swing bridge' which operated until the current 'high rise' span opened in 1979. Our site was the location of the first island grocery and service station prior to the motel being built in the 1960s. As late as 1948 the entire island north of the bridge (approx. 110 acres) was purchased for only $125,000. In 1950 shrimp were first discovered in the Dry Tortugas (off of Key West) and the local fleet grew to over 150 boats by 1953. The industry is smaller now, with foreign sources and farms, but we still prefer our local shrimp.
